The blade is German Super Keen Cutting Steel. The handles are genuine stag with three brass pins. The 1978 Duke came from a collection of PUMA knives that were owned by a PUMA distributor. This knife is like it came from PUMA. The knife has been untouched for 38 years. The box was only opened to take pictures of the knife. It is a stunning example of how PUMA made knives.

This knife measures 7" overall with a 3" blade. The knife is 3 3/4" long when closed. The blade is gold etched with: 900 PUMA EARL - NEW STAINLESS SUPER KEEN CUTTING STEEL - HANDMADE GERMANY.

These knives include the "PUMA Proof Mark" on the blade: a small dot or ping on the blade was made with a diamond pointed needle, part of the Rockwell blade quality testing. The factory Rockwell sticker is also intact on the blade.

These PUMA knives came in the factory green and yellow box with the guarantee control tag. The factory cardboard sleeve used to protect the box is also included plus the factory paper and a PUMA product information sheet. PUMA knives are made to the the highest quality in Solingen, Germany.
