Falknersheil

PUMA Flalknersheil, the model number is 3592. The guarantee control number is 43780. This indicates this knife was hand made in 1987. The Falknersheil is an extremely rare knife to find for only one reason. This model was issued to hunt for raptors. The highly specialized knives from PUMA like the Falknersheil were not sold in large numbers.

The Falknersheil is one of PUMA’s most beautiful and sought-after hunting knives. The notch, which is light blue marks the cutting edge from tip of the blade to the notch. This knife is used for falconry and was developed with the help of several experienced falconers and especially by Horst Niesters in the early 1970s. The blade is intended to chop up food for the birds and to kill the game brought by the falcon.

The handles are made from Rio jacaranda wood that ends towards the blade point with a German silver bolster and finger guard. The blade is made from Pumaster stainless steel. The blade has a fuller groove on both sides for humane dispatch of the prey.
