Treff I & II Throwing Knife - Wurfmesser

PUMA Treff I & II, the model numbers are 8108 and 8109. This model is often referred to as a throwing knife. The Treff I is larger than the Treff II. The knife has genuine leather handles with five brass rivets. The blade was made from German stainless steel. The knife measures 8 5/8" overall with a 5" blade. The knife also comes with a genuine PUMA tan leather sheath. The blade is etched with: PUMA TREFF I & II -  GERMANY 8108 and 8109 - DBGM. The blade has a red counter weight for balance and can be removed.

The guarantee control number for the Treff I is 18481. This indicates the knife was hand made at PUMA Werks in the 1st half of 1984. The guarantee control number for the Treff II is 21781. This indicates the knife was hand made at PUMA Werks in the 1st half of 1987.

Each knife came in the factory green and yellow box with the guarantee control tag and factory papers. Both PUMA models were hand made in Solingen Germany. Each knife includes the "PUMA Proof Mark" on the blade: a small dot or ping on the blade was made with a diamond pointed needle. This is part of the Rockwell blade quality testing.
