Survival Kit - 2nd Generation
PUMA 2nd generation Survival Kit, the model number is 52 6392. This PUMA survival combination kit comes with a model 6392 Survival Knife. The survival knife has its own name and model number, the PUMA Survival, Model 6392.
The PUMA Survival Knife has Jacaranda Handles. The Guarantee Control number is 39382. This indicates the knife was hand made in Solingen, Germany at Puma Werks in the 2nd half of 1983. A complete PUMA survival kit is very seldom seen in mint condition. The green case was imitation leather. The contents of both generations were the same.
A difference in the 1st generation and the 2nd generation survival kit was the placement of the blade etch on the 6392 survival knife. The 1st generation kit has the blade etch on the right side, while the 2nd generation blade etch was on the left side.
The PUMA Survival Knife (Similar to a 6390 Automesser) 6392 model is a popular model. It comes with the factory leather sheath. This knife was hand made (Handarbeit") in Solingen Germany as the knife making capitol of the world since 1769. The blade is 5 7/8" long and the knife is 10 1/2" overall in length. The blade is made from German Pumaster steel.
The handles are from gorgeous Jacaranda with lots of character. The handles are pinned with three brass rivets and washers and they have a Brass lanyard hole. The finger guard is made from polished German silver.

The blade has a notched thumb rest with a match striker on the blade spine. The front of the blade is etched with the PUMA logo and: PUMA 6392 - HANDMADE GERMANY - PUMA SURVIVAL - NEW STAINLESS SUPER KEEN CUTTING STEEL.
This is a great example of a high quality vintage PUMA knife combination set. The survival kit comes in the factory green leather and suede pouch. The 6392 survival knife also comes with a genuine leather sheath with the PUMA logo embossed on the leather sheath.
This PUMA survival knife combination set was hand made at PUMA Werks in Solingen, Germany in 1983. It is made to the the highest PUMA quality. The carrying case is made from a canvas backed green leather veneer.
PUMA handmade 6392 survival knife has a blade made of New Stainless Super Keen Cutting Steel. The handle is genuine jacaranda handle is triple pinned with brass rivets. A brass lined lanyard hole penetrates completely through the full tang blade.
