Taxidermy Set - Präparator Set

PUMA Taxidermy Set - Präparator Set, the model number is 52 3583. This set was used by taxidermist to prepare animal hides for mounting. This set came with the rare wood handle skinner knife. The model number for the skinner is 6373. This is a rare set to find. The guarantee control number is 65773. This indicates the set was hand made at PUMA Werks in the 3rd quarter of 1977.

The sets consists of a skinner knife, scalpel and spoon. The items are stored in the green vinyl case with a brass button snap closure.  It has the rare wood handle skinner knife with a German silver pommel. The handle has two polished brass rivets and a brass lined lanyard hole. PUMA made a later model 6393 wood skinner, but it did not have a pommel. PUMA only made this set for a few years.
